My paypal account is tied to my debit card. I'm not sure if you can tie it directly to a checking account.

You could also ask a friend to buy the code at DLgamer for you, and he could send you your keycode. That might work faster than a bank transfer

That's really not good! I'm Portuguese and happen to be working in mainland China. I was able to get a Chinese credit card here. Anyway, the credit card has been like an anchor to the rest of the digital world. It got me to play GW and socialize with people in good ol' Europe - kudos for GW open zones system. And send mom monthly groceries via online supermarket back home!

Unfortunately for gamers in such distinct places like us, I don't think they'll be able to provide better solutions than a credit card... How about 'guanxi' over there? Maybe another - more lenient bank?

ask a real life friend, show them the money that you are going to pay them back, take them to your computer where the game is, make them pay for with their credit card, after it is activated, I think it is instant, you give them the cash.

then take them for a drink !

You mean 4u2play.de?
You could write them a mail in english (Kontakt = contact, Ihre Email = your email, Betreff = Topic, Ihre Nachricht = your message, absenden = send). Most likely they'll understand it.
Though international money transfer from Taiwan to Europe probably isn't worth it..

Are there no non-NCSoft online stores outside Europe, which sell the keys?

NCSoft's german CR Martin Kerstein said that the BMP will be sold digitally only. Keycards for physical stores aren't planned as it seems.

Yep ,found that out today after seaching 7 stores in a 10 mile radius , i rly wanted to buy it today as its my birthday .I was lead to believe it would sell RETAIL but no once again ANET changing the rules.

lets see you have any friends or family that has one and is close to you, you must know someone. 1 of the people you hang out with must have one? and if they do give them the money for it and use it im sure they will not mind friends normaly do not mind thats why we call them friends. I think everyone has 1 person they know well enought to use his/her CC for a 1 time use.

I did it as a seller. I needed payments deposited into my checking account. Not sure about doing it as a buyer though.

Well, if you want them to stay by what was originally implied you wouldn't even be getting this chance at all, so I can't see how you are complaining. They simply stated retail partners, not *local* or *physical* retail availability. Putting it in caps or quoting their statements didn't work when they were even more clear before, no reason why it should suddenly now that *you* are the one that isn't liking it. As we have learned, no ones fault but your own when you do something like this and you should have thought about it a bit more.

May if people whine enough they will put them out in stores too - who knows?

I wouldn't be to quick to believe that, for a few reasons the main one being that it's not Anet. Yet if you read the upcoming changes

Well Martin Kerstein is working for NCSoft.eu and is kind of the "Gaile Gray" for the German community. I think he has the position that was filled by Alex Weekes previously.

Of course he's talking about Germany only, but the rules for other European countries won't be much different. At least for Europe (and thus most likely including Australia & New Zealand) there will be no physical sale of the BMP.

North American & Asian distribution is handled by other parts of NCSoft, but i doubt they'll handle it much different.

As for the real life friends - most of them don't have credit cards either. It's a cash culture here. You don't even buy things with a debit card here. The other half that do have a card don't ever want to post their number on the internet for fear of it being stolen somehow.

Even if you managed to have somebody send you a cc from your country, there's no guarantee that you can use it in the GW online-store. Reason?
I have a pay-pal cc issued in the states, and when I was trying to use it in the GW online store while I was in germany, I would just get an error-message saying something about "possible fraud" (and yes, there was money on it).
According to the GW/NC support their store will only accept cc transfers from the country where the used card was issued, to prevent fraud.
Sort of defeats one of the purposes of creditcards imho (being able to pay anywhere).
